Best Free CV Builder Websites in 2026 — Comprehensive Comparison
Table of Contents
Disclosure: This article is written by the Astr team, and Astr is one of the sites compared here. We describe Astr from our own product, describe the other sites only by their general type, and ask you to check each site’s current prices and features before choosing. Last reviewed: October 2026.
What Matters When Choosing a CV Builder Website?
Before comparing, decide what you actually need. These criteria are what separate the sites in daily use:
- Language and text direction: does the site write Arabic right to left without breaking the layout? Does it also support an English resume?
- Readable file: does it export a text-based PDF whose text copies out in order, or images and overlapping shapes?
- What is really free: number of downloads, watermarks, and the templates available without a subscription.
- Writing help: is there AI writing assistance, and in which languages?
- Privacy: where is your data stored, and can you delete your account?

We did not test the other sites’ latest plans ourselves on the review date, so we do not quote their prices or limits. Test any site the same way: create a short resume, export it as a PDF, then copy its text into a plain-text editor to see whether it reads completely and in order.
When Does Each Type Suit You?
- A dedicated resume builder (such as Astr, Zety or NovelCV): when you want a clear resume that hiring systems can read, with guidance on content.
- A general design tool (such as Canva): when the employer wants a visual, creative resume that people read, keeping an eye on text readability.
- A word processor (Word or Google Docs): when you prefer full control of formatting and need no writing help.

FAQ
What's the best free Arabic CV builder?
There is no single answer for everyone. Look for a site that writes Arabic in the right direction, exports a text-based PDF and states what is free in numbers. Astr is built for Arabic and English and we publish it, so test it alongside others in the same way before you decide.
Are free CV builder websites good enough?
Usually they are enough for one good resume. At Astr the free plan allows creating and editing within usage limits, 3 PDF downloads per account and 3 daily checks on the grader page. Some designs and editor features require Pro.
Can I create a free CV without signing up?
At Astr you can start in the editor without an account; signing in is required to download the file.
